Apalachicola Bay Inn

The hosts were so sweet, and we’d happily stay here every time we come back to the area. We booked on a last-minute whim for a vacation, and it turned out to be one of our best stays in a while, even though we travel a lot. We like mom-and-pop places, and this one suited us perfectly. Our first-floor king room was spotless, with no dust, and the bed was the best we’d had in a long time. The coffee maker could use an update, but we had brought our own anyway. There’s a nice place to eat outside if you want. It’s beside the road, though we barely noticed the traffic. The hotel is outside town but still close enough to enjoy the ocean and beach. We drove to St. George Island each day, both to support the state park for $6.00, well worth every dollar, and to get away from the crowds. The second pavilion has the most beach, and its bathrooms are closer, which made for an easier walk for us older folks. The coffee shop in town was the best ever. Thanks to our lovely hosts!

The town is delightful, and I’d stay here again for an overnight visit with basic needs. This is a budget motel, so there are very few amenities, but the price was reasonable on short notice while nearby hotels had raised rates ahead of spring season. The customer service was outstanding. Our room was clean, the linens were fresh, and parking was snug but adequate. It was fairly quiet, though the highway location may bother light sleepers. If you need resort-level amenities, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

The room was nicely updated, with a good mattress, soft sheets, and a new air conditioner that kept it cool. The towels were soft and absorbent, too. The gentleman at the desk was helpful and suggested some places to eat. Great location, and we’d gladly stay again.

The rooms have been renovated recently and are in good shape. A decent place to stay if you’re in town for the airshow.
