WoodSpring Suites Raleigh Apex

I left as soon as I spotted the roaches. They were small brown ones, and there were enough of them to make it clear they multiply fast. The three rooms housekeeping showed me weren't cleaned, just had their beds made. Everything was old and filthy, and the bathroom floor was swollen from water damage. At first I was so tired I told her I'd sweep before bringing my things in, but after seeing the roaches I walked out immediately. I'm still irritated about the money too. They said they were processing my refund, then charged me again, so now I'm waiting longer for them to sort it out. The person on the phone laughed like I was being unreasonable for asking why they'd charged me again, and the general manager wouldn't speak to me directly.

The photos are misleading. Maybe they were taken TWO YEARS AGO, because nothing there came close to being worth $60. There were cockroaches in the tub and tiny ones on the walls. At least I didn't see bed bugs, so that was a PLUS. The bathroom had black mold, and despite the no-smoking policy, the place definitely smelled of smoke. I also waited about half an hour with nobody at the front desk. HORRIBLE! DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE NIGHT TARRORS!

I was in town for work and chose this hotel because it was near my job. The website pictures don't look anything like the inside, so don't be fooled. There was a mothball smell as soon as I walked through the doors. The guy at the desk gave me a room that was already occupied, so I had to go back and get another one. That room was the worst hotel room I've ever seen. It looked like cots and smelled like mothballs. I'm pretty sure they must have bedbugs there. They don't have extra towels, either. They wash your towels and return them. I refused to stay. I wish I'd taken pictures of what the inside really looks like. DO NOT STAY at this hotel!!!

The manager and staff were friendly and helpful. A couple of roaches showed up during my stay, though, so they need to do better and get a pest control company to treat the place once a month or so. The other issue was the smoke alarm going off. I was working nights, and being jolted awake by it was aggravating. I don't know any other extended stays that do that. Everything else was okay.
