We left on Sunday, even though we knew there'd be no refund. That's how bad the stay was. The two queen suite was supposed to sleep six, which is why three adults and two kids booked it, but the pullout was broken and unusable. We ended up treating it like a couch, stuffing extra pillows into the gap because you sank into the broken frame. The other beds and pillows weren't comfortable either. The room was spacious, but dirty, with food and crumbs on the floor and in the beds. Nobody took the garbage or brought fresh towels during our stay. The advertised restaurant was closed for the whole holiday weekend, and the only notice was a sign on the door. Breakfast was just okay, with a few hot choices and some dry options. My six and seven year olds liked the pool because they could stand even at the deep end. Older kids would find it too small. The hot tub suited my little ones, but only has room for about three or four adults. We were there over the holiday weekend, from Friday 5/29-5/25, and I wouldn't return or recommend it.

The new manager responded when we raised a concern, and the hotel was a good fit for our group's needs location-wise. We had three rooms, and we were generally pleased, especially with how much we liked the Apple Valley area. The rooms were spacious, though we didn't need the kitchenette. The mattress was comfortable and the shower pressure stood out. Breakfast was decent, but they ran out of yogurt on two of our three days. The fitness room was more like an exercise closet, though it did the job. Nearby LA Fitness accepted my keycard, but still wanted $20 for a guest pass, so I walked around the area instead. For the price, we kept our expectations modest.

The fridge was nice, but a lot of the room felt worn and falling apart. Cabinets were ugly and coming apart, and the windows had no screens, so bugs could get in. A child could easily walk out of a fourth-floor window. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, and moisture was making the ceiling paint peel. There was mold all over the dishwasher. When it worked, it was extremely loud.

The rooms were big and the staff were friendly, but cleanliness was poor. The pullout couch mattress I planned to sleep on had crumbs, stains, cereal, and wrappers in it, and clearly hadn't been cleaned. The floor didn't look swept or mopped, and the sheets were stained.

The room worked well for a family, and I liked having coffee and hot tea available all day and night. The pool and hot tub are tiny, though, and everything was cold, including the shower. The shower leaked, the bed was very worn, and the dryer didn't dry even though I was told it worked. You'll need to ask for pots and pans because they aren't in the room. Breakfast was iight. The bar restaurant closes at 9, which kind of sucks. It wasn't the cleanest place, but I didn't ask to switch rooms. Maybe we'll come back, not sure.
