CopperLeaf Hotel BW Premier Collection

We loved Appleton, but I’m not sure the hotel’s location makes up for the downsides. The extra charges came as a surprise, including $25 for early check-in. The paid parking garage wasn’t working properly, so we couldn’t come and go without being charged each time. The two young men at the desk weren’t very friendly or helpful when we asked for information. There’s no breakfast beyond a $7 boxed meal, and the only coffee choices were dark roast or decaf. The room and location were perfect, but the rest was less so.

Our daughter went to stay for some rest and renewal after we bought her a nearly $400 gift card. Ben mar nico had closed, so we lost that money. I don’t understand how the spa portion is separate when I paid Copperleaf, but they said they couldn’t refund it. It took calls on two different days and conversations with four people just to find out the gift card could still be used. The whole thing felt short of relaxing, renewing, or boutique. We were told we couldn’t book it as a package anymore, then several taxes were added that hadn’t been mentioned beforehand. For $359 for one night, I expected friendlier service and fewer extra fees. There was no complimentary breakfast or anything special for the platinum suite. The $100 hold is still pending, so I hope it comes back and there aren’t more hidden fees.

I was there the weekend of Oct 18. It was all very good and quiet until all the screaming over the stupid No kings shit started. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault, though, and I can’t wait to come back in December. Maybe they’ll have more spa options by then? I loved the hot tub, but wish there were someone offering hot stones.

The hotel is a little older, but it was clean and well kept, and I had a good two-night stay. The location is great, right in downtown Appleton, with lots of restaurants and local shops within walking distance. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m back in the area.
