The bed and linen were top notch. After traveling and working out in the gym, I got a 93 sleep score. Still, the room had some frustrating gaps. It must have been around 500 square feet, but there was only one drawer for clothes. They fit in a safe, a nearly empty booze fridge, and a snack drawer, but not more storage. The water pressure on the 16th floor seemed weak. My wife would have complained. The hotel is modern, clean, and club-like, and the location is great if you’re going to the Moscone. It’s seriously dark in there, enough to make you think you’re getting glaucoma. I couldn’t figure out how to connect Bluetooth to the TV, so I spent the rest of the evening straining to hear it. Also, a medium-volume TV apparently carried next door loudly enough to get me a “first warning” noise complaint at 11:30p. Either someone was really sensitive or the walls are paper thin. For a solo trip with someone else paying, it’s a fine hotel. If you’re paying yourself, expect an easy $400 a night before taxes. That’s Vegas prices to me, maybe not the most expensive in town, but getting up there.

The coffee shop was being renovated, and there wasn’t good coffee within walking distance, so we had to go to starbucks in the Mandalay Bay. There’s free water downstairs, by the way, so don’t buy the $25 bottle in the room. This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. The staff were very nice and room service was great. Get the chicken quesadilla, you won’t regret it. The beds are a little hard, but I like a firm bed. It’s very close to allegient stadium. I’d recommend it to friends and family, and would stay again if I needed to.

We booked through Marriott at a very good rate, and they let us check in an hour early, which can be hard to get in Vegas these days. Parking was easy, as was getting around Mandalay Bay. My fiance and I really enjoyed the stay. Our room was very large, with comfy beds, good amenities, and one and a half bathrooms. It was very quiet too.

We loved having access to all of the MGM property pools. The W pool was closed, so we went over to the Mandalay pool, which was nice. The hotel is being remodeled, and I’m looking forward to coming back once the updates are done and seeing that true W feel. My girlfriend and I had a great Mother's Day staycation. We booked the premiere suite, which had a separate living room and a half bathroom, so having two restrooms was nice. The room could use a little TLC, but nothing too bad. There was plenty of space, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the stay and would definitely book again.

There’s no separate pool for W guests, so everyone uses the Mandalay Bay pool. It was packed with kids, more like a crowded water park than a relaxing hotel pool. The loungers were almost touching, and the area could have been much more spacious. The Bathhouse spa was fully booked during our stay, so we missed out on that too. The room was comfortable and the beds were very nice, but it didn’t feel as modern or up to par with other W Hotels. Some furniture looked rough: the office chair looked like it had been through a bar fight, and the mini fridge they brought us, which they said they usually charge for, looked like it had been beaten with a baseball bat. It felt like we were being nickel-and-dimed for everything. There’s no microwave, and the in-room fridge is full of drinks you’ll be charged for if you move anything, so you can’t use it. We bought wine downstairs and asked for a wine key. It would cost $14 for the key and $9 to bring it up, and they couldn’t even open the bottle for us at the bar. All those extra charges cheapened the stay and made it feel less luxurious than it should. Service was below average too. The staff didn’t seem to have much sense of hospitality or friendly service, disappointing for a W Hotel. The stay was comfortable, but it wasn’t the best value or experience compared with other W properties. Pretty ironic for a hotel whose room phone says “Whatever, Whenever.”
