Hampton Inn Los Angeles/Arcadia/Pasadena

For a one-night business stay, it worked well. Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable king bed, mini fridge, and microwave. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the neighborhood felt safe enough for a walk to dinner or coffee.

Parking was great, with a spot available every time and no extra charge. I also liked that the front desk offered complimentary feminine products. It'd be helpful if they could give out two or three at once for the day, so guests don't have to keep stopping by, though I understand why they manage that stock at the desk. The showers were another plus, and the sensitive-skin lotion, conditioner, and shampoo left me feeling refreshed. We came for Universal and Disney, and both were less than an hour away. The area felt safe, calm, quiet, and comfortable. Coming back to the room after a long planned day felt a bit like coming home. It was cozy, clean, and private. Breakfast was great, with a few items rotated in and out for some variety over several nights. The staff did a great job, too. The location had plenty of convenient choices for a vacation or a quick bite. I'll book again for my next trip.

Breakfast was great, as usual for a Hampton. The signature waffle and cheesy omelette were especially good. I could have used some vegetables, but perhaps the lack of veggies is a US thing. The coffee, tea, and hot chocolate station was good, and it stays open until night. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from a metro station, with free parking in a large lot. Shops are nearby, and the area felt safe, quiet, and pleasant. The room was generally clean and everything worked, and the bed was really comfortable. Indoors it was quiet at night, with little corridor noise. The room was okay but dated: the old A/C was noisy, the bathtub was very old-fashioned, and the metal window barely blocked sound.

The staff seemed worn out, though they were nice. My room was clean, but an adjoining door had a big gap underneath, so I stuffed a towel there to block some light and noise. The walls were so thin I could hear people next door and across the way hanging out with midnight ballerinas all night and smoking, if you catch my drift. I didn't realize this was that kind of hotel. It felt pretty seedy. The elevators smelled odd, and the lettering on the elevator sign was badly spaced. Parking was overcrowded, too. I wouldn't stay here again.
