I’ve never stayed at a hotel that serves breakfast from 6 to 10 AM, and being able to sleep in a bit was exactly what I needed. Gabby was a great help when my reservation got mixed up. I’ll definitely come back!
Breakfast was served early and was freshly made. I expected just waffles, cereal, and coffee, but there were scrambled eggs, sausage, French toast sticks, muffins, juice, and fresh fruit, with light jazz playing. Check-in was easy, and the staff were extremely welcoming. I got lucky with a first-floor room, which made it convenient to warm up my vehicle in the morning. They also gave me two complimentary bottles of water and free wine glasses when I asked. The showers were nice and hot, with adequate spacing. They exceeded my expectations, and I’ll stay here again. Highly recommend.
The beds were comfortable and breakfast was good, though it wasn’t great value for what we paid. This definitely wasn’t the best Marriott, especially since it cost more than the two hotels right next door.
I had two rooms. At check-in, I was asked whether I wanted late checkout, and when I asked about occupancy, I was told it was 80%. I chose not to take the benefit then because I wasn’t sure I’d need it and wanted to do the hotel a favor. Later, after my schedule changed, I told the desk I’d already cleared out the second room and asked for one extra hour in the other room so I could change from work clothes into travel clothes before heading to the airport. The checkout agent curtly refused, repeating the same line three times. The check-in agent had been very Marriott, but that interaction left me suspecting this was why Marriott never sent its usual survey. I guess Lifetime Platinum members should demand late checkout up front, even if they don’t need it, despite the effect on the cleaning crew and room turnover. Marriott keeps finding ways to tell its most loyal customers no. The hotel itself was fine for what it is, but very basic, perhaps too basic for the price, with a strange crowded parking lot and limited amenities. It’s not a higher tier in the brand.
The strobing parking lot light went on all night for all four nights, and none of us could get restful sleep. The beds weren’t comfortable either, so the stay was exhausting for my whole team during an important event for designers and tradespeople. We were here for the Interior Design Market in High Point, as we have been for the past decade, and the hotel required Market attendees to book four nights. There was no Netflix or other streaming, only cable. I asked to speak with the manager about the problems, but she didn’t contact me, so I had to reach out to her myself. We won’t be booking here anymore. You book a hotel to sleep, and that just wasn’t possible during this stay.
