The Birdhouse Inn

Everything inside was top notch, and I’d definitely recommend the Birdhouse Inn. Our room was quiet and clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had a delicious breakfast. Breakfast is weekends only, though muffins or scones are available on weekday mornings, along with self-serve tea, coffee, and water. My only reason for giving four stars is the property still needs some work. On the way in, you pass a derelict RV and broken-down cars, which takes away from the atmosphere. I think the owners will get the entry tidied eventually; it’s a large property and a lot of house and grounds for just two people to manage.

We stayed in the treehouse room and loved its little porch, especially the lovely views in the morning. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, the hosts were lovely, and breakfast was delicious. The Birdhouse Inn is tucked into the woods, so it was very quiet and peaceful. Of course, there are bugs and the landscaping isn’t perfect, but that didn’t bother us. Taliesin and the Wisconsin river are just a five-minute drive away. We’ll be back!

We thought this was a great place to stay. It’s a lovely farmhouse inn with a somewhat rustic feel, and the views over the Wisconsin River valley are pretty. Emily and Ana were welcoming and accommodating, and the weekend breakfasts were delicious. American Players Theatre is only about five minutes away, so it’s a great choice if that’s why you’re visiting the area.

The setting and location are stunning, and we had the best time at The Birdhouse Inn. Emily and Anna were so welcoming and kind. Our beds were incredibly comfy, and we loved the breakfast and coffee. Thanks for a lovely stay!
