Holiday Inn Express & Suites Stroudsburg-Poconos by IHG

We came for a child’s pool party, and the event room had exactly the space we needed with easy access to the pool. The staff were great, especially the front desk attendant, whose courtesy and helpfulness, along with her smile, meant a lot on a rough day. I didn’t catch her name, but she was a light-skinned lady with very nice hair. That personal touch made a great first impression.

The beds were so comfortable that I slept in and missed the complimentary breakfast! My partner and I spent two nights here for the holiday lights and festivities in the Poconos, and the clean, roomy space was just what we wanted. The rooms had lots of spots for organizing things, which was useful since I pack a lot. I’m a clean fanatic, and the place was spotless. We were greeted warmly at the desk, where the staff also shared local event information, brochures for things to do and places to eat, and quick contacts for when we got hungry. The lobby felt cozy, with a glistening fireplace that helped us relax right away. After a cold night in the city, sleeping in a clean, comfortable bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. My partner knew he’d picked the right hotel: the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Stroudsburg/Poconos. I don’t write reviews often, but we enjoyed it so much that I’m already looking forward to returning. If you’re staying in the Poconos, I recommend this location.

The hotel was generally good, and staff in most areas were supportive and courteous. We had two rooms for two nights, and the rooms were okay, though we could hear trucks and other vehicles on nearby streets. Breakfast was disappointing: no scrambled eggs either day, and one day there were only egg whites with vegetables. The seating area is small and fills quickly, while the garbage cans were left overflowing. Parking was the worst part. It looked like much of the lot had been rented to Pennsylvania Electric companies, leaving about 6-8 trucks there every night, and piles of snow took up other spaces. Good luck finding a spot after dinner. Check-in took half an hour even though we arrived close to check-in time, and the cleaning staff were slow to turn rooms over. Asking for nearby rooms was difficult too. One receptionist was rude and unhelpful until I told her to stop saying no to everything. When I reported things that weren’t working in either room, no one seemed to bother fixing them.

On January 2, 2026, around 7:40 PM, I went to the front desk to ask for towels for our two rooms. Morning housekeeping hadn’t replaced them, and both rooms were booked for four guests, so this was my second request for the extra towels we needed. The same female representative was dismissive and rude, as if my request were a personal inconvenience. She was disrespectful and unprofessional, and a simple towel request shouldn’t be met with hostility. The breakfast and housekeeping staff, by comparison, were friendly, professional, and helpful. This front desk interaction took away from what should have been a comfortable stay. Management should address the employee’s conduct and the disconnect between housekeeping and room occupancy.\n\nIn my January 10, 2026 follow-up to GM Frenchie, I clarified that I had asked the front desk for towels. The woman told me none would be available until 7:30 PM. A little later, I found housekeeping on my floor and they gladly gave me what I needed. Their attitude was much warmer and more welcoming than the front desk employee’s. She had no name tag, so I couldn’t identify her. I believe she would benefit from more training in hospitality and guest service standards. The front desk’s courtesy matters because it shapes a guest’s impression.
