Americas Best Value Inn Arlington

I reserved online through booking.com, but at check-in the manager insisted on a $50 cash deposit even though I was paying by card. I've never had a place demand cash in that situation, since deposits are usually held on the card. When I asked why, he got passive aggressive. I definitely won't spend my money here.

Mr. Andy has been kind and professional, and he goes out of his way to make our stay comfortable. He handles complaints quickly and is helpful instead of brushing us off. His father is kind and helpful too, and the cleaning crew are sweet and ready to help. My family and I have had a lot to deal with, so we're not focused on every little thing we see. I love it here.

The manager was accommodating and let me see the room before I booked. It looked recently remodeled, but a closer look changed my mind. I took off my tennis shoes after a long day and found the floor so dirty that it left grime on the soles of my feet. I used a bath towel to try to clean it, and then noticed more things that bothered me. Whatever the cleaning crew is paid, it's too much. Also, the listing on booking.com falsely advertises breakfast, and there isn't even a coffee pot in the room.

We chose this for a road trip to Dallas in April 2024 because Google showed it as a 4-star hotel. The room was dirty throughout: previous guests' hair was on the sheets, and the floor had dust and smudges. The refrigerator and microwave had stains and hair, and the toilet and bath still had stains and droplets from someone before us. The door lock felt flimsy and insecure. We went to the office and got a partial refund, though we were charged for the first night. Stay somewhere else if you want a cleaner, less sketchy place.
