Arlington Inn

The beds were clean and comfortable, and the staff were pleasant. Still, the property needs serious investment and care, and the amenities don’t justify the price. Our room had a terrible paint job, a sink that barely drained, lights that didn’t work, and carpet badly in need of replacement. Even the chairs were stained, and the nearby restaurant menu in the room was filthy. One thing to plan around: unless your night lets you select fan-only mode, the wall heating and cooling unit cycles loudly on and off all night, interrupting sleep.

This is the best of the small hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms were spotless, the beds incredibly comfortable, and I loved the design: modern with an old-school feel that took me back to childhood. It’s quiet, quaint, and comfortable, with a fantastic restaurant right next door. They even had fresh-squeezed orange juice. I’d absolutely recommend it for a relaxing stay.

I only stayed one night. The place seemed nice, but I must have ended up with an unclean bed. The next morning and in the days that followed, I developed a spreading rash from scabies. When I called the front desk, they were very rude.

The price worked for a quick night, and I’d book again if I needed an overnight motel in the area. It was clean and quiet enough, with a decent TV, fridge, separate toilet and shower area, plus pop and ice machines. The decor and fixtures are very dated. Breakfast was basic, but about what you’d expect at this price.
