Hilton Garden Inn Arlington-Shirlington

The location is the big draw. There's a busy running and bike path across the street, and I felt safe going for a run even well after sundown. Great restaurants are just a few minutes away on foot. The shuttle drivers were wonderful, always accommodating and getting me where I needed to be on time. They even adjusted the schedule so I could get to the airport without ordering an Uber. My room was large, comfortable, and very clean, with a microwave, fridge, and Keurig. The bathroom was a little small and could use updating, but it worked fine for my weeklong stay. I'll definitely stay here again.

The neighborhood was perfect for a staycation, and we had such a good time I forgot to take pictures. This newly renovated place has clean, spacious rooms, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Also, whatever scent is in the lobby smells amazing. I enjoyed the rooftop, though its light wasn't working. The bar could use a few rum choices too, so we went somewhere else for drinks.

I really appreciated the bartender/server, the breakfast server, and Pearl at the front desk. I also love the hotel's remodel and location. But I absolutely hate that I couldn't reach anyone to arrange the advertised free airport shuttle. On the afternoon of 2/21/26, I called several times and got no answer. The phone lights up but apparently doesn't ring reliably, and I was told this is a known problem. Even Hilton Honors couldn't get through to the hotel. I ended up paying for an Uber myself, with no compensation, and was delayed at the airport for over an hour through no fault of my own.

Those beds are incredible after a long day in DC, honestly like sleeping on a cloud. The staff were very nice too. I demagnetized my key card three times, and they handled it sweetly. We were traveling with 14 middle schoolers, and the staff managed the group perfectly.
