The Thornton Inn Bed & Breakfast Inn

Breakfast was included and delicious, served family style at a table set for six. There was coffee, juice, fresh fruit, bacon, and homemade breakfast casserole, and they can accommodate special dietary needs if you ask. The bed was super comfortable, and the updated rooms were clean and upscale, with lots of hardwood, robes in the closet, and full-size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash. It’s a great value, with a home-like feel that still stays professional. The innkeepers are a sweet couple who live in another building on the property. Check-in came with physical keys for the shared back door and our room. Mini fridges had soda, water, beer, and wine, and upstairs there was a Keurig station with coffee, tea, and cocoa. There’s plenty of off-street parking, which is handy in this busy part of town. The University of Texas at Arlington is an easy walk away, and the stadiums are a short drive. They offer active duty and retired military a 10% discount with military ID when booking on their website. We’ll definitely be back.

I loved how clean and welcoming it was. I called and booked a room with two beds, and Terri gave us a little background on the inn along with his goofy sense of humor, which I enjoyed. The restrooms were clean and the beds really comfortable. When I was hurrying out for graduation, they were sweet enough to send me off with yogurt to go. I highly recommend it.

The room was spacious, but still felt cozy and intimate. Breakfast was an amazing California-style course of breakfast tacos, and the owner was ready to work around any dietary restrictions. The owners are two of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. My wife and I are going to make this B&B our anniversary tradition.

I stayed here back in 1990, before the hotel was restored, and the Grahams have turned it into the best version of itself. The place has history going back to at least 1894, and the current owners are wonderful people who will take excellent care of you. If I came to town for a convention or a sports event, this would be my first choice.
