Arthur's Country Inn

The TV was confusing, and nobody seemed to know how to find local channels. There wasn’t any ice, either. The sheets kept slipping off the bed while I slept, and the air conditioner filter had so much dust on it that I was sneezing all the time.

What stands out around here is how people seem to care about doing honest work and offering good value, and they’re glad to do it. I appreciate that a lot, since it’s rare these days. I’m here for work and had been thinking about staying at a Quality Inn or Best Western in Arcola. I gave this place a try instead, and I’m really impressed. The room was spotless, with handmade wooden furniture and nice wood trim. It’s simple, but it had what I needed and was very affordable for the night. The bed was more comfortable than beds at a typical hotel.

There were two straight back chairs in the room. Since I wake up in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep, I would have liked a soft chair. That, and the lack of a hair dryer, are why I gave it four stars instead of five. A Dollar General was nearby, though, so I bought one there. The room itself was very clean and had extra towels and blankets, plus a clean microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. I’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed on the west side of the building, and the room was really clean, smelled lovely, and was so quiet. That mattress was incredibly comfortable, I want one like it at home. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off. Arthur’s Country Inn is such a sweet place, and we’ll definitely stay again next time we’re traveling home. Thanks for having us!
