The innkeepers were so warm and happy to tell us about the home’s history, and when I left a few things in the closet, they even shipped them back. That kind of care is rare. We spent three nights over Valentine’s Day weekend, and it was such a treat. We seek out B&Bs whenever we can, so we know a good one when we find it. This place was spotless, with coffee, tea, snacks, cold drinks and fresh-baked cookies always available. Our room was refreshed daily, breakfast was delicious and accommodating, and they even offered to arrange an in-house massage. We’ll be back for another long weekend in Asheville.

The fireplace was my favorite part of our clean, gorgeous, spacious room, and every staff member we met seemed genuinely happy to be there. We hated saying goodbye after two nights and can’t wait to book again. It truly is The Wright Inn. James greeted us warmly and professionally. Since we were the only guests in the house then, he put together our social hour treats while we unpacked. He’s also the chef, and both breakfasts he made were outstanding. I’ve spent 20 years in the restaurant business and would hire him for my kitchen in a heartbeat. The family run inn pays attention to every little detail and made us feel pampered and at home.

We had a great time celebrating a 50th birthday with friends at this charming, comfortable house in Asheville. Sadly, the owner Chris made the experience stressful. There was a refrigerator problem, and we later heard the power might have gone out. Instead of talking it through, Chris accused us of leaving the fridge open and said we owed him for spoiled food. We had arranged a small celebration and used the kitchen without his permission, thinking it would be all right since most of the food in the fridge was ours. He still charged us for the food and handled it badly. I told him I was traveling and would respond about payment within the week. He became hostile, threatened to sue, and said he’d charge by the hour if I didn’t pay immediately. The emails were aggressive and unnecessary. I paid a couple of days later, but the whole episode was upsetting. The property itself is lovely, but the owner’s attitude and lack of professionalism spoiled the stay. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone who expects courteous service.

We stayed in the celebration suite with our dog, and the easy way out to the outdoors was great for the pup. The room felt cozy, with wonderfully soft sheets and pillows. We also loved the breakfast and the afternoon cookies, maybe a little too much! There’s a lovely park down the road, and the big porch was a great place for wine or a book. Beautiful property and neighborhood. We’d gladly come back and recommend it.

Breakfast was wonderful, and the hosts were happy to share the area’s history along with ideas for things to see, do, and places to eat. The owners, host, and staff were all friendly and helpful, making sure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. The 1899 Wright Inn is a beautifully restored home and very well run as a B&B. I’d love to stay again.
