Comfort Inn Asheville East-Blue Ridge Pkwy Access

The room itself was comfortable and looked well cared for, and both the general staff and the breakfast crew were warm and helpful. But room 106 had a desk chair in awful shape, with so much torn upholstery that most of the padding was showing. It looked like it had been left outside during Helene. Seeing such an obvious problem ignored by housekeeping and management made me wonder what other standards were being overlooked. The hallways also smelled like cigarette smoke.

The room was cramped, and the bulky dresser took up nearly all the space, leaving nowhere to sit except the bed. The bathroom, surprisingly, was huge. The room and bathroom were mostly clean, there were plenty of towels, and the in-room microwave and mini fridge were handy. The location was great and check-in took almost no time. Breakfast was complimentary, with waffles and fruit, maybe cereal too. I didn't try the waffles, so I can't say how they tasted. The first-floor carpet needs cleaning. Parking out front was tight, but there was plenty around the back.

The woman at the front desk was lovely and very accommodating. The rooms were another story. Our first one smelled strongly of mildew, had dust everywhere, and had two very obvious handprints on the headboard. We were switched to a second room, which still smelled, though not as badly; the AC helped clear it. There was hair in the bathtub, and its stained bottom looked dirty. I can't imagine the rooms are being cleaned thoroughly, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The stay was easy with our two pups, and the staff were very friendly. The price was reasonable for us. Thanks for a great stay!
