We were in town for a late anniversary celebration mixed with some business, and the staff made it feel like a real occasion. Josh at valet welcomed us with a warm smile as soon as we arrived at the Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville. Around the lodge, every guest service person we met was attentive and seemed to take pride in making guests comfortable. Dinner was wonderful. Lily was friendly, paid attention to what we liked, and gave recommendations that worked out perfectly. The food was top-notch, with every dish prepared beautifully. Stephen made our evenings even better with his cocktail skills and knowledge of the menu. He chatted with us like a host and made us feel valued. The hospitality was exceptional throughout our visit. The Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville is a gem, and we left grateful, with memories we’ll keep for a long time. I’d highly recommend it for a memorable getaway.
The room was excellent, the bed was great, and the staff, valet team, and cleaning crew were all A-plus. I enjoyed my stay, even though I only ended up liking the place instead of loving it. The location surprised me. It sits among busy eight-lane roads with a lot of traffic, between a McDonalds and a Hardees. I’d pictured somewhere more tucked into a cozy part of town. Helene-wise, the area had almost completely recovered, so that wasn’t an issue. Corner Kitchen is exceptional and you can walk there. The lobby is lovely and quaint, with a fireplace and a few large, comfortable chairs and couches, but it’s small for somewhere called “Grand.” The big valet arrival area seems like it could have been made into a more expansive lobby. The gym also felt cramped, dark, and uninspiring. Still, everyone there was great, and the rest of the stay was wonderful.
A comfortable place to rest while traveling toward points south. The room was clean, with top-shelf amenities, and room service was quick. Staff at the desk handled questions intelligently, and valet attendants were there when we drove in to help with travel needs. It’s an excellent hotel for a stop in Asheville. There are several car dealerships nearby, and if you drive a Land Rover, they’re in town to handle service. Highly recommend this lodge. Cheers.
We used to love staying here and have been a dozen times, but this visit was such a letdown that I won’t return. The only friendly people were the young valet attendants, who were wonderful. Too bad, Bohemian. Our air conditioning broke, and after waiting an hour for someone to come fix it, my husband went downstairs to ask for another room. The front desk never answered the phone, so we had to go down whenever we needed anything. The bath products used to feel luxurious, but now they’re no better than what you’d get at a hotel 6. We went down for breakfast and were told it was closed for an event, even though I could see people eating. Nobody mentioned this when we booked or checked in. At checkout, they said we should have bought a “breakfast package with our room” if we wanted breakfast. The room was $300 a night. I’ll never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it. Because of this, I also decided not to buy the sculpture and Stevie earrings we’d told Constance in the gallery we’d come back for.
The Spa handled our request much better. They reached out on their own, understood why we wanted to reschedule, and said many customers were changing plans because of weather and travel concerns. The hotel’s response, by comparison, was extremely disappointing. On January 30 2026, while traveling from central NC, we asked to reschedule our reservation at the Grand Bohemian in Asheville, NC after the Governor publicly urged people not to travel due to conditions. I understand the Governor may not have legal authority under General Statutes to restrict driving, but the guidance was clear and based on public safety. The hotel wouldn’t work with us in any reasonable way. There was no flexibility, understanding, or meaningful customer service, just a generic response that felt AI-generated instead of thoughtful. We booked through a third party that YOU allow to represent YOUR company, but you’re ultimately responsible for the guest experience, and you didn’t make this right. Hotel Check Out, the link we used on the website for reservations, blamed the hotel, and the hotel blamed Hotel Check Out. My wife and I have stayed at your properties multiple times over the past 10 years, so this was a disappointing way to treat returning customers. Transparency, accountability, and basic courtesy matter in situations like this, and we saw none of them. I’d strongly reconsider booking here if you expect flexibility when circumstances are beyond your control.
