This place was filthy and badly run, and I’m done with it. My smoke-free room smelled strongly of the previous occupant’s cigar, and there was thick body hair all over the tub and floor. Both beds had unchanged sheets with hair on them, and the floors clearly hadn’t been swept or mopped. The hallway smelled like dog feces, and I was worried about bed bugs enough to spray around the room to keep them away. I dropped my powder puff, and it rolled behind the toilet as I was checking out. When I returned a few days later, I got the same room and found it still in the same spot. I’d asked to have the bathroom cleaned and left a tip on the toilet, but the housekeeper only put in fresh towels and a garbage bag. She didn’t clean the toilet, tub, or sink, and took the tip. I cleaned the bathroom myself. When I complained to the young man in charge, he made excuses for her. Another housekeeper was just as bad. If towels are in the wash, clean rooms and bring towels back when they’re ready. Instead, he parked his cart and fooled around with the other employees. Management keeps hiring inexperienced, lazy people. Even with free housing for employees, the work is still poor. This place deserves zero stars, but the rating system makes you choose one.

It’s a cheap hotel, and the price comes with some tradeoffs. The rooms could use updating, and it isn’t the cleanest place. Pets are allowed, and there’s a small shop with a smoke shop in the main lobby, which you don’t see at many hotels. The location is convenient, near lots of stores and restaurants. It’s a unique stay that won’t suit everyone, but the price is great and the service is good. Not the worst hotel, not the best either.

The staff were friendly whenever I spoke with them, and the location near the interstate and several restaurants was convenient. The price was reasonable, and my large dog was no problem. Still, I can't see myself coming back. The hallway carpet smelled so bad that I kept a large candle burning in my room, which helped. I heard vacuuming, but the carpet really needs replacing. The maid had never cleaned under the bed, even though things could roll beneath it. I don't think tips are fair to ask for if the job isn't done fully. I also saw one roach come out of the bathroom baseboard and retreat into it. After that, I left a light on at night, kept my belongings tightly closed, and checked them before leaving. I didn't find anything or see another bug.

The staff earned my five stars. Every time I've stayed at the rodeway, I've been treated kindly. I overslept and was late getting out, entirely my fault, but they handled it patiently and politely. I can only thank them, because I might not have been so understanding if our roles were reversed. For a hotel under $100 a night, I don't expect luxury or constant pampering. They have to budget, and that makes sense. It's also the most pet-friendly hotel I've seen, and it's affordable. Thanks to Sabrina and the rest of the staff for being so kind.

Nothing seemed clean or properly maintained. The room and the rest of the hotel smelled bad, and we saw roaches. The fridge and microwave were filthy, the bathroom sink was cracked and stained, and the shower curtain was dirty and moldy. Photos attached. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
