The place was cared for and well kept, and I loved seeing deer roaming through the garden, neighborhood, and town. At Abigail’s, Susan’s yummy breakfast and conversations with everyone around the breakfast table were a highlight. Adam suggested a scenic morning walk into town to work up an appetite. We wished we could have stayed longer, and hope to return for a show.

Breakfast is a real event here. Susan’s cooking is top tier, and they happily worked around our dietary needs. The portions were so generous that both plates in my photo were one breakfast, and you won’t want lunch afterward. There are good afternoon cookies too, the kind you actually want to eat. Adam and Susan are accommodating innkeepers who make an effort to talk with guests and help them have a good stay in Ashland. Their suggestions for local sights, wine, and food were excellent. Many guests are regulars, and breakfast becomes a chance to chat. If you enjoy a proper B&B experience, Abigail’s is highly recommended. If you haven’t tried one, you should. It’s a good thing, I promise! The rooms are comfortable, the service and amenities are excellent, and the inn is about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Getting there and parking were easy. Walking back after a play was no problem, the street was well lit and felt safe.

Susan and Adam were gracious hosts, and breakfast was fantastic. The rooms were clean, well lit, air conditioned, and just the right size. Abigails is close to both OSF and Downtown Ashland.

Susan gave me a map with several suggestions for different activities when I arrived, and the theaters and downtown shops were an easy 15-minute walk away. The grounds impressed me too, especially as someone who loves plants and landscaping. I enjoyed talking with Susan about the herbs and other plants. My Garden Room was quiet, cozy, and comfortable, and the place was impeccably tended. There were lots of tea choices and fresh baked cookies. Susan is a wonderful cook, and her breakfasts were beautiful and delicious. I had to leave before breakfast on my last day, but she sent me off with fresh fruit and freshly baked muffins.

The only little snag was a somewhat wonky shower head in the garden room, and the walk into town is about ten minutes. Otherwise, the rooms were spotless, and Susan and Adam thought of every last detail to make guests comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and even as a notorious introvert I had fun at the communal table. It’s a beautiful home with lovely hosts, and we’d absolutely return.
