Second Wind Country Inn

We used the Autumn Ambiance special for a three-night stay, with breakfast and dessert delivered to our room, and both were truly delicious. The Lumberjack Loft had more than enough space for the two of us, with a comfortable living area and beautiful views through the big windows. It was a great spot for our somewhat last-minute getaway. From there it was about a half-hour ride to Bayfield for the ferry to Madeline Island and a hike, and about the same to Copper Falls the next day.

Such a peaceful place to stay. There’s no TV in the room, which made the stay really nice. Thanks for a beautiful visit!

We spent four days and nights as a family of five in the Lumberjack Suite, and it was the most beautiful, peaceful place we’ve ever stayed. Kelly was a wonderful hostess, kind, communicative, and quick to respond to what we needed. The suite had a full kitchen with plenty of provisions and was decorated impeccably. There were lots of books and board games, and the WiFi was adequate. No TV turned out to be a plus since it kept us from focusing on our electronics. We loved watching the field animals and playing with the kitties. If you want a quiet, nature-centered home away from home, stay at Second Wind.

Kelly and Mark are warm, excellent hosts. We stayed four nights, and the room was very clean, the AC worked, and there was plenty of hot water for showers. It’s not far from ashland and makes a good base for seeing a lot of Lake Superiors stuff. We’ll stay again.
