The location was perfect, and our room was cozy and very clean. My mom and I came in by train at 7:30 pm. The owners met us at the Tinder house, helped with our luggage, and had already warned us about the steep staircase. We managed it fine. The coffee, tea, water, and breakfast pastries were great. We were comfortable using the private bathroom down the hall. We didn’t meet the tenant, and would only have crossed paths in the hallway, since there’s no shared space. It suited us perfectly. Thank you.

My grandson loves trains, so this was just right for us. He could watch them from the window of his room overlooking the tracks, and sit there after dark as they went by. There was even a bench right outside our front door where we could watch trains. Sharon was a great host, and when she realized my wife was vegan she brought fresh fruit to our door. We also went to the local cinema and had lunch at a local place that’s been there over forty years, Suzanne? The ladies in the train memorabilia store were very kind to my special needs grandson. It was a perfect stay for us, thanks.

The town felt friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed walks along the sidewalks and trails past beautiful houses. We were relaxed and refreshed when we left Tinder Guest House. The house is quaint and cute, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we liked reading in the sitting room while watching for the frequent trains. You could hear them, but they weren’t too loud. Everything was neat and clean, with coffee, juice, and water in the room. Sharon brought fresh, delicious muffins and cookies too. We’ll stay again if we’re nearby, or even make a special trip.

Even with gloomy weather and most of town shut for Memorial Day, we had a lovely time and want to come back. We’d taken the train down from DC, missed the early one, and arrived on the late train after the one nearby restaurant open somewhat late for a Sunday had already closed. The next day, everything seemed closed too. The building and rooms felt like stepping back in time, and were peaceful. We loved the sitting room with books and relics, and its windows where you could see and hear the trains passing. The train store was open, as was the hotel across from the train platform, though we can’t remember their names since the trip was over a month ago. The hotel’s ☕ cappuccino was amazing. We had lunch there too because it was the only place open, and that was very good. Unfortunately, we didn’t take many pictures.
