Prospector Condominiums

The units themselves are fine, but management communicated poorly and left us without useful help. The building doesn't turn on the heat until a set date in fall, so keep that in mind if you get cold easily. They provide space heaters, but one wasn't enough for the whole place. In my second unit, there was a fan that only blew cold air. They kept insisting it was a heater. They said they'd bring another or come check it, but neither happened, and the front desk left for the day. I called the emergency line and never heard back. It got so cold at night I felt ill. Leaving a guest in those conditions felt really irresponsible.

With a view of Aspen mountain, The Prospector Condominiums sit right by Wagner Park, and the location made it easy to get around on foot. Matsuhisa, Cache Cache, Van Cleef and Arpels, The White House, and other Aspen restaurants and shops are all close by, so we hardly needed the underground garage. The two bathroom condos have saunas, fireplaces, and large flat screen TVs, and some have Jacuzzis. A great setup for a stay in central Aspen. I'd highly recommend The Prospector Condominiums in Aspen, Colorado.

I loved the private hot tub looking over Wagner Park, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The Prospector puts you right in the middle of town amenities, shops, restaurants, and bars, with Aspen Mountain Ski Resort a short walk away. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The parking garage was the one real hassle for us. It's secure and handy to have, but tight for anything beyond a car or midsize vehicle. Getting around the 90° corner was rough in our older full-sized, short-bed Chevy, especially on the way out. If you're bringing a truck, I'd leave it out of the garage. Otherwise, we had a great stay and I'd recommend it. This was my first time in Aspen, a surprise anniversary trip my husband planned. The hotel was closed for the off season when he booked, but Scott, who was the owner or caretaker, was very pleasant and let him reserve a room. From outside, the place looked a little out of date and not in style with the rest of Aspen, but it's extremely well located with Aspen Mountain right behind it. Shops, restaurants, the grocery store, bars, pubs, and lounges are all walkable. The rooms were also a bit dated compared with the rest of Aspen, but really nice and clean. Our private back balcony had a tub and sauna facing the mountain. There was a master bedroom with its own bathroom, plus another bedroom with a pull-down bed and a full bathroom. A few steps up from there, the kitchen had a microwave, fridge, and sink. We only stayed one night, but it would suit a few-night visit, families with kids, or friends sharing a room. The price was reasonable for the location and for a town like Aspen.
