The hosts are relaxed, friendly, and easy to talk with. They gave us good ideas for things to do and places to go, and the family atmosphere made our conversations part of the fun. They helped a couple of Arkansas hillbillies feel comfortable and at home. The room was clean, roomy enough, and the bed was really comfortable. We slept great. It was also easy to walk everywhere. Snow Queen has a lot of history, and it's a nice, comfortable place without any pretension. A highlight of our Aspen trip.

The breakfasts had a nice variety, and Hunter would cook eggs to order, which was a welcome extra. My room was clean and just as expected. I especially liked that the bedding smelled like fabric softener and home instead of being soaked in bleach like some hotel linens. Hunter was personable and accommodating, and easy to reach whenever I had a question or needed to call. He made me feel at home and was open to feedback. The place is a short walk from a bus stop and a few streets from town, so it was quieter. I really enjoyed staying there on my own and will return.

We came for a quick Memorial Day weekend and found a charming lodge with a lovely history. It's been in the family for over 40 years, and everything was within easy walking distance. Parking was available behind the house and on the street. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and our cozy room and bed made me feel right at home, even though hotel beds usually keep me awake. I can't wait to visit Snow Queen again. I can't imagine what someone would have to complain about. The only truly bad review seems to quote Trump, so maybe that explains the attitude, lol. I'd give it six stars if I could.

The main thing to know about my room, Lucky Strike, is that it's off the kitchen. Hunter starts making breakfast around 7:45 a.m., so light sleepers may wake up then. There's another ground-floor room near the front entrance, so ask where yours is if noise is a concern. Mine had a shower, free WiFi, and cable TV. I stayed at The Snow Queen Lodge for 10 days and found it comfortable and homey, a real gem among Aspen's pricey luxury hotels. Shops, restaurants, and the slopes were an easy walk away. There are five parking spaces behind the building, and I believe street permits are available too. The shared living room has a couch, other seating, and a wood-burning fireplace. The small kitchen seats about five. Breakfast is included: Hunter can make eggs, bacon, or other things you want, alongside cereal, toast, yogurt, coffee, and tea. Hunter and Hannah are the resident hosts and innkeepers. They're warm and fun to talk with, answer questions, suggest restaurants, and can help arrange ski rentals. I enjoyed the stay, think the location and value are probably the best in Aspen, and would happily recommend it and return.
