Comfort Inn Athens

The bed was the best part, really comfortable, and the linens looked clean even though some had holes. Service and location were fine, and I didn't try the continental breakfast. I usually wipe surfaces down, and that didn't reveal much to worry about. The rooms mostly matched the photos, but they were quite worn and dirty. There was a stain in the tub, chips on doors, furniture and headboards, plus scuffs and marks all over the walls. The walls were worst of all, with what looked like blood drops or splatter in the main room and possibly the bathroom too. I included pictures. I've stayed in worse places, but those walls need cleaning. It's gross.

The pool, slide, and hot tub were a hit with our son, and we'd stay here again. The room wasn't spotless, but nothing that spoiled the night. A few spots around the hotel could use paint. Nice place.

For the price, this is a great place. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and I'm pretty sure it's the same manager we've seen praised in other reviews. We'll give breakfast a try tomorrow. It sounds good!

Mrs. Stacia at the desk made everything easy when I checked in. She answered my questions, even ones that had nothing to do with the hotel, and was really thorough. The complimentary lemon water was a nice touch. I liked the place enough to ask about adding another night, and Mrs. Stacia walked me through the extra reservation, made sure the notes would keep me in my current room, and gave me a printout. She also offered suggestions for nearby places to explore, since of the nature of my stay. She mentioned she'd be away for a couple of days and back Saturday, and said she'd like to hear about my adventures then. Such warm hospitality. Hope the rest of my stay goes this well.
