Econo Lodge Athens I-75

The woman at the front desk was friendly. We'd booked because the reviews were good, but our second-floor room had multiple roaches running around. We left within two or three minutes. My husband asked the office for a refund, and they offered another room instead. He declined, saying that if one room had roaches, they all would. The manager said their policy was that offering a replacement room meant they didn't have to refund us. We didn't get our money back. The manager was very rude, and the place was disgusting.

The desk lady was excellent, as always, but this place is off our list now that it's under “new” management. A smoke alarm went off late in the evening with four long screeches. The new desk person said it sometimes happened when the heater came on for the first time. Then it went off twice more around 3am. I called the desk, and he came over, dismantled it, and left. Clearly maintenance isn't a priority.

Seriously, save your money and sleep in your car. They accused me of smoking in the room and kept my $150 deposit, even though neither I, my wife, nor my children smoke. There are drug addicts everywhere, and the staff are outrageously rude. Do not stay here!

I've been here for work for four months, and it's a great property. The owners are awesome. I'll definitely recommend it.
