Lexen Hotel- Hollywood Walk of Fame/Universal Studios

The trip took a bad turn when $400 worth of our things went missing from the room: five LABUBUs and two pairs of jeans. There’s no way they just “disappeared.” Other items we bought that same day were in those very same shopping bags and weren’t touched. The specific things missing makes it feel far too pointed to be an accident. Nobody had real answers, and we felt uncomfortable and honestly violated. You don’t expect to return from exploring Hollywood to find only certain belongings gone. It ruined the experience because guests need to be able to trust that their things are safe. It’s a shame, because Lexen Hotel Hollywood Boulevard is beautiful and in a great location. The rooms were clean, stylish, and modern, and Kiki at the front desk was so kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. At first everything seemed perfect, and I really wanted to love the hotel.

I was unhappy with my stay at Lexen Hotel last night, at 2018 North Highland Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90068. I was told at the desk that the room rate was set by an algorithm, so they had no control over it, when I asked to pay the previous night’s rate for a second night. The white bath towel in my room was wet, and I didn’t know who might have used the bathroom before I arrived. I requested fresh towels. The representative didn’t want to touch the wet one and asked me to leave it in the hallway. I did, but it was still there 12 hours later. Making coffee in the morning turned into a cleanup job. The machine overflowed onto the desktop and floor when I used the paper cups stacked beside it, and I spent five minutes cleaning it all up. The shower was awkward too: the head was on the right, with fixed solid glass on the left, and the curtain closer to the showerhead was too short. Water splashed all over the bathroom floor, so I mopped it up to avoid slipping. I started feeling like the maid. When I called the front desk that morning about staying another night, Alex said he’d be happy to match the previous rate. But an hour later downstairs, Keke, who had replaced Alex, said she’d try to match it, though parking would add $24 per night. Since another company owned the lot, she said no adjustment was possible. It felt like the hotel would rather have me leave than sell me another night. I said I’d go upstairs to pack, and was told, “That is fine.” They also said my $200.00 security deposit would be returned within 1 o-15 days. It wasn’t just held, it was charged to my credit card, and I was told a refund would take at least 10 business days. Poor rating on so many levels. I recommend staying anywhere else.

I’ve been here for three nights since December 28 2025, and I’m very happy with the hotel. The location is really good and quite close to Universal Studios. The front desk staff are very, very nice. I’ll definitely stay here again next time.

We were excited to find a room within walking distance of The Who concert and booked six weeks ahead. Then on the day we were due to check in, they cancelled because they’d overbooked. There wasn’t even an apology or an offer to help us find somewhere else. I’ll never trust them again.
