Eagle Rock Motel

The person who took my reservation the week before was the same one who welcomed me when I arrived, and I've been impressed since making my five-night booking. It's a small, 10-room hotel. I'm pretty sure I got the best room, set apart from the rest, with a view of the covered parking lot and my car. The room is clean and in good repair, the bed is comfortable, and the basics are there: mini fridge, microwave, clean towels, toiletries, and removable hangers. Those are handy for steaming wrinkles out of clothes in the bathroom. It's a casual room with what you need, and the person running the hotel makes it especially nice by being gracious and hospitable.

Easy to find, though it's close to a busy street. The owner was friendly, and check-in and checkout were no problem. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi and cable worked, and there was a mini fridge, microwave, shampoo, soap, and lotion if needed. The bed and pillows were very firm, and there's a mirror above the bed. Parking was really tight, seems made for small cars.

The rooms were a bit grubby, though clean, and the price was low for a really well-located motel. I saw comments saying the parking spaces are tiny, but my Mustang fit without a problem and had room on both sides.

Terrible customer service. I got a room for myself, then let a friend who was with me come in to use the bathroom. She came out and complained, even though I kept telling her it would just be me staying there. A few minutes later she asked for my card, saying she was going to refund me. I never saw the refund, and they weren't helpful when I called. They said the charge hadn't gone through, but it was still on my statement, so I had to file a claim with my bank.
