Holiday Inn Express Athens

The shower had good pressure, but the bathroom lights and cable were lousy. The curtains wouldn't close all the way, either. Kids were running and jumping around in the hallway above us, and people kept slamming doors. It made getting to sleep hard. I wasn't too thrilled with the hotel.

Our January 11, 2026 stay was great: nice room, good breakfast, and helpful staff. On the way back, we tried to stay again on 3/28/26, but the reservation call didn't work out. We called ahead and were told two king rooms remained; they said they'd hold one, but didn't ask for my card or give me a confirmation number. That's probably my mistake. When we arrived, the clerk said there was no room “at the inn” and didn't really acknowledge that there might have been a mix-up. We were disappointed, but went down the road to Home2Suites and got more for our money, so things worked out in the end.

I found black mold and spiders at this hotel, and the vacant building across the street has homeless people around its dumpster. The neighboring hotel is a roach hotel. This was one of the lower quality Holiday Inn stays I've had. Save your time and money and stay at the Hilton near Starbucks.

Check-in was easy, and the location was great. After a long drive, it was wonderful to find the hot tub actually hot and working well. Jayla kept breakfast fresh and hot the whole time. She's a gem.
