Inn Between The Hedges

I wasn’t going to stay here. It looked nasty and dirty outside, and sketchy people were wandering around the parking lot. It didn’t feel safe at all, and I’d never stay somewhere like this.

The staff were super nice, but the room wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been, and the bathroom and shower were absolutely disgusting. We checked in at the end and it was the only room left. The rate seemed too high for the room, though maybe the location is what you’re paying extra for.

The shower had plenty of hot water and the bed was comfortable, though I didn’t get under the covers. When I arrived, the room was very cold, but the heater warmed it quickly. The towels were small and scratchy, and the walls were thin enough that we could hear noise from the neighboring rooms. Only one of the three lamps worked, and although the room was marked non-smoking, it smelled strongly of smoke and wasn’t very clean. The woman who checked me in was friendly and helpful, even though I arrived pretty late. It’s fine for a cheap night if you set your expectations.

We were exhausted and hungry, so I was grateful to get a room within our budget at the last minute. I’d called after our reservation at another hotel turned out to be dirty and disgusting, and the owner here assured me the rooms were very clean. They even offered to show us some rooms so we could judge for ourselves, though we just wanted to relax. The room was exactly what we needed, very clean, nice, and tidy. I’ll definitely stay here again. A low price doesn’t mean you can’t get a quality room.
