Sleep Inn Athens I-65

We stayed a full week and had everything we needed. The room was small to medium in size, and the bathroom was very small, but it was clean and well maintained. The TV was good, and each morning’s breakfast was better than I expected and really convenient. Sleep Inn is right beside the interstate, so some traffic noise comes through. It didn’t bother me or keep me awake, though, and I slept like a baby. My girlfriend and I found it a comfortable, affordable choice in Athens, and we’d stay again.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. There are other options in the area, and I’d choose one of them. I left before completing my stay because the check-in experience at the Sleep Inn location at Cullman AL i 65 - exit 315 was so unpleasant. From the start, the guest relations/check-in employee was dismissive and unhelpful, without basic courtesy. The way the interaction was handled felt unprofessional and unwelcoming, far below what I expect from someone in a guest-facing role. Staff at the front desk set the tone for a visit, and this encounter fell well short of reasonable standards.

Our room ran out of tissues, and when I asked the front desk, the woman offered me toilet paper instead. She said the hotel had been nearly full the previous day and had only one housekeeper because someone missed work. Still, they hadn’t left any tissues on the shelf in the room for the front desk staff. The people were nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. 😏

The walls are thin enough that you can hear ordinary conversation from the next room. If the hotel isn’t full, I’d suggest leaving an empty room between guests. For an overnight rest, it’s a really good place. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great, and breakfast was excellent. The serving area was very clean.
