La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Midtown - Buckhead

The rooms looked nice and were very clean for the area, and breakfast was good. But getting checked in was frustrating. I booked on Priceline for my sister and used my card, so the name on the card didn’t match the reservation. The desk clerk was hostile about it, took my phone from my hand, turned on the camera, photographed a sign behind the desk, and made me read it aloud. The sign said the card and reservation names had to match, but Priceline didn’t show this rule and let me book. It also wouldn’t let me change the reservation name afterward. I had to rebook at the hotel and was charged twice. It took over a week to get my first Priceline booking refunded while they waited for manager confirmation or approval from the hotel. It seems the hotel doesn’t like third-party bookings and has its own policy. If so, La Quinta should either stop accepting Priceline reservations or clearly state the rule online instead of hiding it behind the check-in counter. I was taken aback that my phone was taken to photograph a sign I couldn’t read myself and hadn’t known about when booking. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but this was a very frustrating experience. I’ve used different cards and reservation names at other hotels, including the Hilton, without a problem.

I’ve stayed here several times. The grounds are maintained daily, the location is great, and the rooms have been clean. Breakfast is complimentary and filling enough to get the day started. I did have a room where the TV and AC didn’t work properly, but it was manageable.

Sam at the front desk made a great first impression. He was warm, welcoming, and brought a lot of good energy, so check-in felt smooth and pleasant. The hotel was comfortable and well located, but the service stood out most. I had a great stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Midtown – Buckhead. Excellent customer service, highly recommended!

I usually filter hotel searches for free breakfast and a fitness center, and I felt swindled here. I wouldn’t have considered staying if I’d known the fitness room was closed, seemingly because of mold, and breakfast meant a few wrapped muffins and coffee. The hotel also had a bad odor, and I’m usually pretty tolerant of that sort of thing. Two stars instead of one because my sheets were clean. Thanks for that, Maria. :)
