Sonder — 549 Peachtree

The unit felt dirty everywhere, from the walls, floors, and counters to the carpets. The restroom smelled like urine, the unit reeked of smoke, and there was trash in the hallways and elevators. I felt like I needed gloves just to touch anything. When I arrived, a homeless person was sleeping in a vehicle, marijuana smoke was in the lobby, and the broken parking gate left cars accessible to anyone. I felt unsafe throughout. This property is unfit for guests. Think twice before booking this house of horrors.

We stayed just one night, and the next morning we found blood on the queen bed sheets. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed, one shower drain was clogged, and the other shower had no hot water. When I contacted customer service, they said they could have moved us to a clean, prepared room if I’d told them sooner. Why wasn’t the room I paid for ready in the first place? Matthew wasn’t very empathetic and wished me a “happy rest of my trip.” I wish I’d read the reviews before booking. I hope this helps someone else avoid the place.

We traveled more than eight hours to Atlanta for our honeymoon, and the stay was a terrible start to it. The parking information from Sonder led us to believe parking was paid, but the details were unclear. Two boots were put on our vehicle, and we had to pay $75 to get them removed. We weren’t properly accommodated for the problems we ran into. The environment felt unsafe from the moment we arrived. The lot Sonder directed us to was trashy, and the security guard let someone in without an access code after they talked him into it. Inside The Byron, there was a strong smell of marijuana and cigarettes, along with loud music and noise after quiet hours. The apartment stayed warm and stuffy even after we adjusted the thermostat. Please find somewhere else to stay. Never again. March 2021

I grew up in the projects in NYC, and this building felt like it could be one. There were so many homeless people around, and at night it didn’t feel safe. Even walking about 15 minutes up the road into the nice area didn’t make the walk feel comfortable. The apartment smelled of weed, and the cleaning seemed mediocre. The building smelled like weed and cigarettes, with air freshener used to cover it up. The beds felt like wooden planks, so uncomfortable. I won’t stay here again. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for somewhere nicer.
