Sonesta Select Atlanta Midtown Georgia Tech

Chris was really helpful and made sure my needs were taken care of, which made for a perfect city staycation. The hotel had an upscale but relaxing vibe. I’d highly recommend staying here, and I’ll definitely be back.

I booked a double room months ahead because I was traveling with two children and another adult, but they gave us a King room instead. When I asked about it, Tasha at the front desk said rooms were assigned on a “first come, first serve” basis, which made no sense after I’d reserved so far in advance. The TV said “Welcome Jennifer Robinson” when we walked in, not my name, which made me wonder whether the room had been properly cleaned or reset. The chairs were visibly stained, and the room felt filthy and unsanitary. The next day, we were moved, and staff took our belongings without asking or telling us. When we returned to the old room with the key, everything was gone, including things in the fridge. The new room wasn’t clean either. There was hair all over, including inside the sheets and covers, as well as dog hair and dog eye boogers on the sheets. My child is allergic to dogs, so that was unacceptable. The bathroom dispenser was filled with water instead of soap, and the pool was open but unclean. Cleanliness matters a lot when traveling with children, and this fell far below basic expectations. Tasha made things worse at the desk. She was extremely rude, kept rolling her eyes, contradicted herself, and didn’t try to resolve anything or show concern. The new guy who checked me in kept saying he was new and that it was his fault. Tasha was careless and dismissive. The staff gave the impression they didn’t like their jobs, and even asking for more linens seemed like a burden. I’m very dissatisfied with how this was handled. I’ll notify corporate and won’t recommend the hotel. I hope management takes this seriously so other guests don’t have the same experience.

Chris, the manager, was especially helpful since I didn't know the area, and his Silver Skillet breakfast suggestion was right on. Everyone who greeted me was really nice. The room was exceptionally clean, too. The location worked perfectly for Midtown Atlanta, with everything close by and a great breakfast spot in walking distance. I'd happily stay here again on my next Atlanta trip.

I regret booking the Sonesta Select Atlanta Midtown Georgia Tech. The neglected area outside my window had trash and discarded clothes, including underwear, scattered on the gravel. Inside, there was a brown stain on the couch's back cushion, and I couldn't comfortably sit there. Dead bugs were crushed into the carpet and gathered around corners and the window frame, which made it seem like the room hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. Live stink bugs and small beetle-like insects kept turning up from the moment I arrived. I found them on the curtains, windows, carpet, by the sofa, and even around the bed. I removed several myself, but more appeared. With the pests, stained furniture, and outdoor neglect, the hotel didn't feel clean, safe, or well maintained. This was far below what I'd expect from Sonesta, especially at this price and in Midtown. I had one of my most uncomfortable hotel stays, and I wouldn't recommend it until the serious cleanliness and pest problems are addressed. Travelers visiting Atlanta, including the Georgia Tech area, can find better, cleaner, more reliable places nearby.
