Twelve Midtown, Autograph Collection

Parking was the one snag. GPS sent us to the Atlantic Station garage, which wasn't right. Setting it to Allora takes you directly to valet, usually $36 a night. You can self-park, but it's a long walk to the hotel. Aside from that, this was a top-tier stay for our family's birthday staycation at The Twelve Midtown - Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel in Atlantic Station. There were three of us, and it was our first time. The hotel is spacious, cozy, and an easy walk from Atlantic Station. The pictures on Google and the Marriott Bonvoy app were accurate and did the place justice. The property was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy helping guests. Aisha welcomed us at the front desk and explained the property and its amenities. It's a must-visit if you're near Atlantic Station.

Publix is right next door, and with a full kitchen in the hotel we picked up groceries to cook, especially for breakfast. The full amenities, including a washer and dryer, were a pleasant surprise. We picked this place because of the shuttle to Mercedes Benz Stadium for the Seahawks game on Dec 7, 2025, and ended up wowed by the hotel and its especially friendly people. The location was great too, with Christmas decorations everywhere, an ice skating rink, a giant tree, and great restaurants. The shuttle was right outside. Highly recommend it.

After we left, we found a room at the SpringHill down the street. The staff there treated us wonderfully and even gave us welcome gifts open booking. The experience at Twelve Midtown was the opposite. I'd paid $250 in advance, but Shay, the site manager, told me she couldn't let us stay because I used a Cashapp card. I didn't have my debit or credit card with me, but the payment had gone through hours earlier and the money was off my card. I'd used that card at other, better hotels. She didn't greet us, try to be polite, make casual conversation, or smile. She just said we couldn't stay and she couldn't refund us. I spent an hour making calls and dealing with Shay's microaggressions before finally getting the refund. My friend and I had driven over five hours, and this was our first stay in Atlanta in years. At the lobby door, someone shouted across the room asking if we were checking in, cutting us off mid-conversation before we'd even reached the desk. It was Shay. Looking back, I felt she had judged us by our appearance and was looking for a reason to turn us away. We were in sweatpants and T-shirts after driving about six hours and needed to freshen up and get dressed for the night. I felt she treated us like garbage because of our appearance, skin color, and clothes. She could have been speaking to millionaires and had already decided to mistreat us. I'm a law student, and being treated like a criminal after paying for a room was shocking. I'd seen reviews dating back years describing Shay discriminating against people of color, saying she treated non-ethnic people kindly and people of color as if they were worthless. Since she still works there, it seems the hotel doesn't care about racism, discrimination, or its image. I'll post this review on several platforms and report the hotel to the BBB. I want to thank Shay and the Twelve Midtown hotel as a whole for reminding me discrimination still exists, sometimes from your own kind. This was an anonymous account for privacy reasons.

The rooms were spacious, and having Publix nearby was useful. I stayed for several weeks for work, and the place worked quite well for that. Some rooms have an in-unit washer and dryer and some don't, so check if that matters to you.
