Palm Suites

The pool was nice, and the location was decent, with the beach within walking distance. From the back of the hotel, the view is good. The rooms felt a bit outdated, though, and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. There’s a sink and coffee pot, but no silverware or plates, which makes them kind of pointless. I also wouldn’t describe these as condos, as Expedia did.

It was quiet and peaceful, with relaxing, beautiful views and well-kept grounds. The place was clean, cute, and cozy, and felt like a great value for the amenities. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, some within walking distance. I’d definitely stay again.

My stay was pretty decent overall. The room was fine and the location was great, but there was a slight mildew smell when I came in, probably from the AC unit. I opened the balcony door to air it out, which cleared it up. The balcony door itself wasn’t in the best shape. I had to shut it pretty hard and then lock it to make sure it stayed closed. On my last night, the person next door was playing guitar and singing loudly between midnight and 1 AM, despite the hotel’s 11 PM-7 AM quiet hours. Isabella at the front desk was extremely helpful in sorting it out and speaking to the other guests.

We checked out as soon as my husband got home from work. When the desk clerk asked if it was because of the water, she still didn’t apologize. We’d spent our stay chasing updates, and they never called my number once. We checked in Monday, and the shower in Room 109 only dribbled cold water. My husband told the young woman at the desk, who said she had to press a button to reset the water heater. On Tuesday, another person said the heater was being taken apart so it could be fixed and we could get hot water. We had to warm water in the microwave, and were told other rooms had the same problem. On Wednesday I asked for a straight answer. The woman from Monday said a plumber was on the way, just like she’d said then. I reminded her, and asked if we should move to another hotel. She said no, a plumber was coming, even though on Tuesday we’d been told repairs were already underway. Which was true? They knew we’d paid for hot water, but kept us there with conflicting explanations, including that plumbers were busy. It felt like they had no plan beyond keeping our money until Friday. A miserable experience. We’ve never had a hotel leave us with cold drips and so many lies.
