Makai Club Resort

It was easy to relax at this peaceful resort, set apart from the busier nearby towns but still within reach of what you need. The upscale neighborhood felt safe, and the grounds were beautiful. Recent renovations seem to have made everything feel fresh, clean, and well cared for. Staff were warm and friendly, and their local suggestions made the stay even better.

The rooms were clean, the location was great, and the stay was comfortable overall, but the staff interaction left a bad impression. Before quiet hours even began at 10 pm, they sent their first message saying they would cancel our already paid reservation because they thought we might make noise. It felt like a threat, not a request. There were people playing loud music by the pool, so maybe they mistook us for them, though that was also before 10. We would have appreciated a simple request to keep it down later. We tried closing every door to contain any noise from talking or cooking, but the old paneled glass windows wouldn’t shut all the way. Also, expect to take out the trash and clean up like you would at an Airbnb, so set aside a few hours before checkout.

My friend and I stayed in a two bedroom, two bath cottage at Makai Club Resort, and it was awesome. It was peaceful, the rooms were clean, and the location was handy for Hanalei Bay, with a grocery store nearby. The staff were friendly and available whenever we had questions. I’d definitely recommend the resort.

For the price, this is the best hotel you can get in Princeville. It’s quiet, has free parking, large rooms with full kitchens, and patios with views. The pool and hot tub are nice, too. The rooms are clean, but a bit of mold showed up in a few places. A lot of the furnishings are visibly worn and dated. Still, I love this quiet, affordable place.
