Comfort Inn & Suites Atoka

We had to head out before breakfast officially started, but the morning staff let me take a bite of what was ready. The staff were friendly, the place was nice, and the towels were clean, though just okay for a two-star hotel and could’ve been thicker or softer. Our room faced the travel plaza, so I heard trucks pulling out early and woke up. I may have been extra alert since I had to get up early anyway. That’s my only complaint.

We slept fine and left, but the rooms felt like they hadn’t been maintained. There was an odd smell, and the showers looked so dingy that we didn’t want to use them. The front entrance looks nice. I wouldn’t call the place horrible, but I can’t say anything positive about it either.

I left and booked at the Best Western half a mile up the road instead. They accepted my early arrival and late checkout without a problem, and there were several rooms available. I even offered to pay for an extra night, but they said it wasn’t needed. There weren’t any special events expected to limit availability in the area next week, and the Comfort Inn lot had just one car in it. I’m a local and had stopped there to ask about staying for three days while maintenance work was done at my home. I need to leave before hotel check-in and return after checkout because of the work. The desk clerk was very rude, fixated on the check-in time, and wouldn’t let me explain. I know those times can be flexible with advance notice because I often stay at another Comfort Inn for out-of-town medical treatment. When I waved to stop her and said I’d find somewhere else, she seemed shocked. I wasn’t going to beg. I could understand if the hotel were full, but it wasn’t.

I slept so well! The bed was super comfortable, the pillows soft and fluffy, and the room clean.
