Sonesta Select Detroit Auburn Hills

Breakfast was fine, and I appreciated having hot food. It was my first visit, though, and the place felt very basic. I expected a bit more, but it was pretty inexpensive, so maybe that was on me. I also thought it was odd that there was no hand soap by the bathroom sink.

The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, and the price was very affordable when booked through the hotel website. I was in town for a funeral and chose it because another family member was staying there too. The lobby had a fireplace and several TVs, and there was a small fitness room. The indoor pool was closed while I was there. Free Starbucks coffee and hot breakfast starting around 5:30am were convenient, and the sales manager and cook were very nice. It isn't an upscale place, and there were some drawbacks: no housekeeping beyond refresh service, no free bottled water, a spotty TV connection, and keycards that repeatedly stopped working and had to be replaced. For the price, it was a good stay.

We just checked out after a great stay. The room was so clean, and the price was a great value. Shopping and restaurants are about 10 minutes away, while the hotel itself is far enough from the busy area to stay quiet. I'd come back, it was well worth the cost.

Elios made my stay at the Sonesta Select absolutely amazing. I visit Detroit often and have stayed at several hotels, but the care from the GM here felt like VIP treatment. If you're going to Pontiac Michigan, I highly recommend checking out the Sonesta Hotel.
