Hampton Inn Auburn

We were on the highway side of the building, and you can ask whether they have a room on the other side if you’d like it quieter. The place was very clean and a great stay for the price. We even got to use the pool one day. The woman who cleans the breakfast tables is super sweet!

The room was spotless and comfortable, with a cozy bed and a clean bathroom that had everything I needed. I was here for work, and the Hampton Inn Auburn made the whole stay easy, from a warm welcome at check-in to helpful staff throughout. Breakfast was fresh, had lots of options, and the coffee was always hot. It was also convenient for getting to restaurants and the highway. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

The highway noise was as bad as the reviews say. It felt like sleeping in the middle of an expressway, with cars roaring by all night, and earplugs didn’t help me get much sleep. The hotel itself is nice enough if you’re not expecting to rest. There’s also no hot tub, despite all the pictures showing one. They removed it, and that was the whole reason we booked here instead of the Holiday Inn Express. Next time we’ll go there and hopefully sleep. Take the noise reviews seriously, they’re completely true.

The morning desk attendant had an awful attitude when we simply asked for a late checkout after getting in at 3 a.m. because of a snowstorm. The night staff were good, and that’s the only positive I can think of. We chose the place based on reviews, but it made me wonder if staff write them or people are paid to. Breakfast was okay. The rooms are old: we had to switch rooms because the temperature couldn’t be adjusted, and the air conditioners look like they may have been there since before I was born. The bedding is stitched together in three layers, a sheet, blanket, and comforter, so if you get hot you can’t take off just one. There were cracks in the walls, dirty tubs, filthy carpet, and a strange smell in the rooms, possibly bug spray or some kind of chemical cleaner. We’ll never come back.
