Indio Holiday Motel

I paid for 4 nights, but when I first got into the room, a tack strip poked my feet. They’d taped over it, which felt very ghetto. I was in town for a wedding and hadn’t been spending time in the room, then went back and found it locked with someone else inside. They claimed I’d abandoned it. How could I abandon a room I paid for 4 days? I had to get the COPS to come to the office to deal with the manager, who kept getting in my face and seemed to be trying to start a physical fight. They said I’d left nothing in the room until the cop made them give my stuff back. This place feels like some serious scam artists. Avoid it!

Dennis, the manager, was great and answered all our questions about the area. He even helped suggest and provide a ride to and from Stagecoach each night. The room was spacious and great for our first stay at the Holiday, with two queen beds, a flat screen TV, a refrigerator, and a vanity area in the bathroom for us girls to get ready. Perfect for Stagecoach weekend. I’ll recommend this hotel to friends and stay again.

The location turned out to be a great surprise since I don't know the area. It’s close to everything, especially CV Vaqueros, where my horse is staying overnight and where I have an event tomorrow. Check-in was easy, and the guy at the desk was really nice. He moved me to a nonsmoking room at no extra charge. The room looked clean and was a good size, with plenty of parking. I haven't tried the bed or shower yet, so I may need to adjust my rating, but I hope not.

We had a really good one-night stay. The pool was freezing since it isn't heated, though it was still refreshing. On arrival, we were moved to a room by the pool with a partial gate around it, which made us feel safer as two women traveling together. The room was clean, the TV worked, and Wi-Fi was free. I'd stay here again.
