Hampton Inn Auburn

This was my second visit, and both times I ran into problems with the clerk. He was rude, gave me attitude, and wasn’t helpful. He charged me for services and an overpriced deposit even though I’m a diamond member and a team member. He ignored me while chatting with a friend, and made me feel like I wasn’t even there. He said the payment hadn’t gone through, but the POS showed it was approved, my phone showed it after I tapped to pay, and it appeared in my bank account. He didn’t even look at his screen. Then he said the room I’d booked had already been given to someone else, but that he could put me in another room, and that I still needed to pay a $100 deposit. They were laughing at me. I said I’d call corporate, and he refused to get the manager. That was the only time he... I didn’t get a chance to finish explaining, but needless to say, I don’t think he thought he’d get caught charging me without checking the screen.

Sherry is amazing. We’ll stay nowhere else when we’re visiting! I liked that the hotel is tucked away and easy to miss from the main road. The exterior is being repaired, but it didn’t get in the way of our trip. Best hotel around.

I was there for one night before visiting Worcester the next day. The renovations caused very little disruption, and I didn’t mind that the pool was closed. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and I couldn’t hear any construction. Breakfast the next morning was very good.

Construction caused a serious privacy scare. Our room window was covered in plastic outside, and after I’d checked in and was getting out of the shower, workers started pulling it off right there. They could have seen us naked if we hadn’t hurried to cover up. We checked out the next morning. We accidentally left a health tracking ring and deliberately left behind a shirt we didn’t want. I called the next day about both, and they said they hadn’t found anything without missing a beat. I can’t believe they didn’t notice the shirt, it was bright as day. The ring had a location tracker, and it definitely showed as there until about 1pm, when the battery died. They also won’t answer our calls or connect through the app.
