This is more a bit of sharing than a review. I was 19 when I arrived at the submarine base in Groton in late 1971. Base housing told me about this motel, and I rented a room or efficiency apartment by the month until Memorial Day 1972, when I had to leave for tourist season. Back then it was called the Rocky Neck Motor Inn, and rent was $145 a month, just within what my Navy pay could cover. I stayed again from December 1973 until sometime in August 1973. I lived in room 7. The only way in or out then was near the tavern, and the office was the first "room" on the right. Mrs. Pellitier was the manager both times, a dear lady. I loved having cable TV, cleaning twice a week, a small closet, and a little kitchen and eating area. It was my first place on my own, and I was very happy there. Sometimes I'd walk over to the state park and all the way to the ocean. Good memories from a 73-year-old Navy submarine veteran. God Bless you all!
