I stayed for a week in June to visit a college friend and her family, and I felt perfectly safe traveling alone. The room was very comfortable, and everyone working there was pleasant. While the kitchen was being repaired for a few days, there wasn't a hot breakfast, but the staff did their best to have other food available, which I appreciated. Parking is the thing to watch: the lot is small, and arriving late might mean no space. After the second night, I learned to get back earlier so I could find a spot.

The hotel itself is fine, about what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express, but I'd come back for breakfast alone. Monique was hosting, and her grits were clearly more than the usual quick hotel version. She's a grit magician. I ate three bowls and felt sick for the rest of the day, but it was worth it. Everything else was fresh and delicious too.

The staff are really friendly, and this location is run very well. My one complaint is the missing in-room clock. More hotels seem to be doing this, and I don't get it. I know people use their phones as alarms, but research says you shouldn't sleep next to your phone.

We always feel at home and appreciated at Auburn Holiday Inn Express. Kris at the front desk is pleasant, funny, professional, and always helpful. Tammi makes breakfast amazing, and as an early riser she gives guests such a warm, home-like greeting. She's courteous and a delight. Thanks, we'll see you next time!

I was traveling for business with an uncertain schedule and needed a hotel quickly. Kris welcomed me so warmly and made sure I had suitable accommodations for work, which made the whole stay more comfortable. I recommend this property without hesitation.
