Lodge at Snowbird

A medical emergency came up just a few days after the cancellation cutoff for our trip. I know those deadlines exist for a reason, but I asked the reservation team if we could at least move the dates until medical treatment was finished. They refused. They can choose to enforce their policy, but after losing my $2,200 with no willingness to adjust anything, I'll never stay at this hotel again. That says a lot about what they care about.

We come every year for my mom's birthday, and the balcony is our favorite spot. We bring binoculars and look for critters on the mountain. The views are unbelievable. It's also a great midsummer break from the heat in SLC. It was 70° and breezy here, with tonight's temperature expected to drop to 53°! 😁

We had a one-bedroom with a full kitchen, a spacious layout, and a whole wall of windows looking out on gorgeous views. The updated decor felt clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. Shout out to the cleaning guy whose name I can't remember, he did a great job, along with Aaron the bellman and shuttle driver, Alyssa at the front desk, and Shirley, who you can't talk about Snowbird without mentioning. They're all so helpful and friendly. Snowbird Center is across the street, with tram and lift access directly to the mtn, plus complimentary ski check for Lodge guests, rentals, tram club for apres fun, and a small supermarket. The kitchen had everything we needed. I didn't use the heated outdoor pool or other facilities, but laundry in the room would be a nice improvement. Alta is only six minutes away by shuttle. We liked it more than Cliff lodge and will definitely return when we ski Snowbird and Alta.

The mountain air is so refreshing, and the whole place has a different feel that makes it easy to relax and enjoy what utah and snowbird offer, even in the months without snow. I stayed last year and already booked time for September 2024. I'd definitely recommend it for a weekend, or two or three.
