Red Carpet Inn

We drove from Michigan to see Trump, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby, plus cleaner hotels. Our room, 203, was already occupied: garbage everywhere, the bed unmade, and a laptop left inside. An old man then offered us a bigger room and laughed while saying to make sure no one was in it, and that my husband and I could leave and lose our money. The rooms are old and dirty, the beds rock hard, and the towels could cut you. Breakfast was just Sam's Club cereal and black coffee. Please don't leave valuables in your room. They give strangers keys to occupied rooms.

The front desk staff were very nice, but the room I got on January 4th, 2020 wasn't clean. It had no clean sheets, towels, or tissue. I asked to switch, but the other rooms were awful and I saw bugs crawling on a bed. I returned to the first room, where staff changed the sheets, but after four hours I saw a bed bug crawling beside me. I left in the middle of the night and accepted the loss. The place is infested and needs to be sprayed. I'd rather sleep in a car.

I got the clean, basic room I wanted at a reasonable cost. It was simply decorated and comfortable, and I could park right outside instead of going through a lobby, which was handy during the pandemic. I was welcomed promptly and treated courteously. There was no pool, business center, or fitness center, but I didn't need those, and the place I stayed the night before had them closed anyway because of the pandemic.

Parking was great, and the area was nice for walking around. The price was very affordable, the location just right, and every staff member was super friendly. It felt more like staying at a guesthouse than a motel. The room matched the photos and was clean and smelled nice at check-in. Fresh sheets and blankets, plus really soft towels. I'll definitely stay here again.
