Super 8 Mount Vernon

As a Wyndham member, I expected better. The sheets were yellow, which was disgusting, and the chain latch was missing, so the door couldn't be secured. The mattress was worn down and sunken where people had slept. A horrible experience, and I don't recommend staying here.

A family member went here looking for a room, but felt uncomfortable right away and thankfully decided not to stay overnight. The staff intended to keep her ID overnight and argued when she objected. They also kept pressing her for details about her stay after she'd already answered. The interaction and the place creeped her out. She got her ID back before leaving and found a safer hotel in the next town. Women traveling alone, listen to your gut.

This stay was really disappointing. There were bugs in the room, and I killed two. The coffee pot looked gross and unclean, the hair dryer didn't work, and there was no hot water. The water dripped the whole time. They also charged me twice for the room. The money was returned to my card, but it took 24 hours. Not a good experience at this location this time.

There's easy access on and off the highway, with food and fuel close by. Plenty of parking and power to charge boats make it a good place to stay when fishing.
