FairBridge Inn Express Mount Vernon

We were happy with our two day stay. It's an older hotel, but the owners keep it well maintained. It had what we needed, including truck parking and a washer and dryer. The bed was clean and comfortable, the air conditioner was cool, the water pressure was amazing, and the ice machine worked. They offered breakfast, though we didn't try it this time. There's not much nearby, but delivery is available from DoorDash, Walmart, and places like that. The man and woman at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. We'll come back when we're in the area.

It's very shabby, with a broken sink basin in one room, a broken microwave in another, and threadbare furnishings. I've stayed in much worse, but this isn't the place to choose if you want luxury.

I left after just an hour because the mold in my room was so bad. I had to wipe black mold off the toilet seat before I could use it. The staff were nice, but the hotel itself badly needs attention.

The room was filthy, and the bathroom lock actually trapped my partner inside. Management got it open with a screwdriver, but seemed annoyed about helping. The toilet barely flushed, and I killed both a brown recluse and a roach. There was also a squashed beer carton with two beers left in the fridge, plus baked-on bird droppings by the main entrance. We stayed the nights of 8/5/2025 and 8/6/2025. People were drinking and smoking on the lawn near the entrance we used. I wouldn't give this place a star, and I won't stay here again.
