Sleep Inn & Suites Auburn Campus Area I-85

We were told we could get only a 25% refund because the problems had been addressed during our stay. I've never had to ask a hotel to bring towels or get the electricity working in my room, and we never even got an apology. There was also a screw in the middle of the floor, a safety hazard. I'm glad we still had our shoes on when we stepped on it. We hadn't known when booking that the hotel was being renovated, and the work made it pretty unappealing. A giant smiley face was drawn on the first-floor hallway wall. In the room, there were no towels or washcloths. When I called the front desk, they asked if I was sure and told me where the towels should be before finally bringing some. None of the lamps would turn on, and there was no power for our phones, although the bathroom lights and outlet worked. Downstairs, the employee said they might try something, or there was a man who could fix it, though they didn't know which room he was in. A few minutes later they took us to the third floor and flipped a bunch of unlabeled switches until the room had power. Do NOT stay here!

The elevator floor is still being remodeled, so it felt a little sketchy. That was my only complaint. We stayed one night, the room was clean, and the front desk staff were friendly. Renovations were underway, but we weren't bothered by noise. Breakfast was available, though we didn't try it.

Renovations are still going on, but they didn't affect our night. We enjoyed our one-night stay, and the service, breakfast, and cleanliness were all great.

We paid over $500 a night after coming from Florida for my first Iron Bowl. I expected prices to be high and things to sell out, but there was no warning we'd be on the first floor right beside active construction. It felt like sleeping in a construction zone. Every morning I woke to loud drills and banging, and we had miserable cold showers too. At checkout, we had to walk through tarps while they demolished the rooms and walls around us. There should have been some kind of warning.
