Super 8 Auburn

My wife, one-year-old daughter, and I have stayed twice, and we won’t return. The last time, we had no hot water for two days. When I complained to the front desk, the person said they didn’t know what to tell me; then the manager came in and threatened to kick me out. We left early for another hotel. The staff and management stabbed us in the back and didn’t care about customer service. There are also a lot of people living there. With new management, some staff replaced, and a change of owner, it might be worth staying, but until then, not at all.

This hotel is conveniently located near major shops and restaurants. Friends I visited here said it was just okay: the beds weren’t as comfortable as most, and the hot water was out, with no discount offered. I guess a part had broken. A few third-party booking sites list a pool, but the hotel doesn’t have one.

Upstairs was nice and clean, but the downstairs hallway smelled strongly of smoke even though we were told the place was non-smoking. Housekeeping hadn’t cleaned our assigned room, so we moved to a second one, where two light switches didn’t work. No complaints, just the reality of life in a fallen world.

It’s cheap, and unlike most other hotels in Auburn, Indiana, this place takes cash. Some rooms look cleaner than others, and the place could use a bit of sprucing up, maybe new bedspreads or updated furniture. The rooms are OK, but could be cleaner.
