The Partridge Inn Augusta, Curio Collection by Hilton

The rooftop steak was delicious, and the bartenders were friendly. This is a 12/10 for me because an older, lovely place is bound to have a few issues, and the way they treat guests when something goes wrong is incredible. I've stayed here several times and always had a great experience. The rooms are so cute and have their own character, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Brianna, the housekeeping manager, checked on me after I arrived. She knew my room had had an AC problem the night before and offered to call maintenance or move me. I chose to let maintenance take a look. It was 75 when I got in, then reached 77 while I was on work calls. The maintenance worker explained they'd had trouble the previous night, but the family in the room hadn't called back, so he hoped it was fixed. It needed a bigger repair. He offered to get new keys from the desk, but since he had a master key, we went down one floor and into a refreshing 63-degree room.

I really liked some of the staff I met. Nikki in the restaurant was warm, kind, personable, and made sure diners got both good food and outstanding service. Kelle at reception had a genuine, welcoming smile and was very helpful. Joshua and Norman, the bellmen, greeted us cheerfully and took care of us. Norman even came to help us move rooms. The hotel needs major renovations, and they were going on while we were there. I spent five days here and had plumbing trouble on all but one of them, mostly with the hot water. It went cold within the first 20 minutes on day one, which is when I met Tyler. He's wonderful, kind, and ready to put things right. He fixed it that day, but on day three we had to switch rooms, and eventually the water heater was removed from the old one. On the second-to-last day in the new room, the hot water went cold again. Tyler came back and reset the heater, and it stayed hot through checkout. Apart from the renovation needs and water heater problems, it was a good stay.

We had breakfast on our balcony at sunrise, and it was lovely. The balcony was huge, with a great table, and the room felt just right with a super comfortable bed. The place itself was beautiful, cozy, and quaint. The rooftop bar was fabulous, and the restaurant food was really good. We loved everything we tried: steak, lamb chops, eggs Benedict, and an omelette. Hank at valet was amazing and gave top-tier service. Thanks so much, Partridge inn, we had such a fun time with you guys!

Edit: They invited us back and gave us a meal voucher after our first visit. This time everything was exceptional. We got more one-on-one attention, and we'll definitely return, just not on a holiday again! My boyfriend and I came to Partridge Inn for Valentine's Day, our first time there. We'd booked 8595 for 8:30 about a week ahead and were looking forward to the Charcuterie board and steak. We arrived an hour early, hoping to wait somewhere, but found a 20-ft line of couples on the second floor. Good thing we were early, since reservations didn't seem to matter. People from the back were pressuring the host to seat them right away. We waited until 9:00, and by then my feet were killing me from standing in heels. Our server was nice and took our whole order at once, but he was clearly swamped and had little time to check on us. The charcuterie came fast and was delicious. The entrees were a letdown. My steak cut was pretty atrocious for something listed as 14OZ and $60, and the gravy wasn't very tasty. It was a mess: they took too many reservations, overwhelmed the staff, and hurt the customer experience. Don't go on a busy holiday night expecting the top-tier service that price suggests.
